Castles S1F2 Terminal: How to Set Up Your Swipe/Contactless Device

PbN-issued payment terminals handle sensitive card data. For your security, only use the terminal provided directly by Practice by Numbers (PbN) and ensure it has not been tampered with.

Note: The Castles S1F2 terminal does not support chip (insert) functionality. Patients must either swipe or tap their cards to make payments.


Step 1: Inspect the Box

Before unboxing the terminal, carefully examine the shipping box to ensure everything is secure and authentic.

  • βœ… Check that the box hasn’t been opened previously.

  • βœ… Look for the security seal – it should be a green and white label with a barcode and serial number spanning the lid.

  • ❌ If the seal is broken, damaged, or missing:

    • Do NOT use the terminal

    • Immediately contact Practice by Numbers Customer Support


Step 2: Unpack and Inspect the Terminal

After confirming the box is secure, proceed to unpack the terminal and inspect it thoroughly:

  • Verify the Serial Number
    Confirm that the serial number on the device matches the one printed on the box.

  • Check for Tampering
    Inspect the terminal for signs of tampering:

    • Missing or loosened screws

    • Unusual holes, wires, or labels

    • Any attachments or foreign objects

    If anything appears suspicious, stop immediately and contact Customer Support.

  • Confirm Accessories
    Ensure all expected accessories are included and in good condition. This may include:

    • Charging cable

    • Power adapter

    • Paper roll

  • ⚠️ Payment Limitations

    • This terminal does not accept chip (inserted) cards.

    • Patients must swipe or tap their cards for transactions.


Step 3: Insert the Receipt Paper Roll

Once the terminal is verified, install the receipt paper as follows:

  • Locate the paper roll inside the shipping box.

  • Open the printer compartment by pressing the sides of the paper cover and lifting it up.

  • Insert the paper roll so the paper feeds over the contactless logo.

  • Close the cover securely.
