Providers Working Alternate Days

What to Do if a Provider Alternates a Day Off and On


If a provider alternates workdays, such as working every other Monday, here's what you need to do:


1. Set Provider Hours:

  • Go to Settings > Office and Provider Hours.
  • Set the provider's schedule to include Mondays. If their Monday hours differ from the office hours (e.g., only working half a day), enter their unique hours adjacent to their name. Make sure to also enter their hours for other days.



2. Handle Non-Working Tuesdays:

  • On Mondays when the provider does not work, Practice IQ will detect that no appointments are scheduled for them and record "0" for Hours Worked for that day.
  • To adjust their Hours Available, go to Settings > Provider Hours Worked. On the specific Monday, change the available hours to "0" and save.



3. Adjust for Vacations and Early Leaves:

  • If the provider goes on vacation or leaves early on a particular day, adjust their available hours for that day on the Provider Hours Worked page.


4. Accessing Provider Hours Worked Page:

  • You can also access this page from the Doctors page.
    • Select the week containing the day you want to adjust at the top of the page.
    • Go to the Schedule Utilization panel.
    • Click the arrow at the top right and select Set Provider Hours from the menu. This will redirect you to the Provider Hours Worked page for that specific week.
