How to Properly Set Up QuickBooks Syncing


To set up QuickBooks syncing in Practice IQ, follow these simple steps:


1. Access QuickBooks Setup:

  • Go to the Settings page.
  • Click on the button to connect to QuickBooks.


2. Connect to Intuit:

  • You will be redirected to the Intuit website.
  • Enter your credentials to connect to the correct office, especially important for companies with multiple practices.


3. Initial Data Sync:

  • The initial data sync will take about 10 minutes.
  • You can set up accounts and expenses only after this first sync is completed.


4. Map Accounting Categories:

  • Map the categories in Practice IQ to the accounting categories already set up in QuickBooks.


Important Mapping Categories

  • Bank Accounts: Ensure all your bank accounts are mapped to reflect the business assets.
  • Revenue: Map revenue from every income source, including patient refunds.
  • Expenses:
    • On the left side, you'll see every account for payroll, supplies, services, facilities, etc.
    • This information is imported from QuickBooks along with the account type.
    • The mapped type and expense type are the categories used in Practice IQ.
