You can send treatment plans to patients in Practice by Numbers through the Communication Center, the Patient’s Information Window, or directly from the Treatment tab. This guide walks you through each method, along with important tips for using templates and automation.
Method 1: Sending a Treatment Plan from the Communication Center
1. Open the Communication Center
Click the SMS button in the bottom-left corner of the website.
2. Start a New Message
Click the pencil icon in the top-right of the panel.
Enter the patient’s name or phone number in the search field. Matching contacts will appear — select the correct patient.
3. Select "Send Treatment Plan"
Once the recipient is selected, click Send Treatment Plan at the bottom of the panel.
4. Customize the Treatment Plan
A new panel will open.
You can:
Adjust specific codes and fees.
Click directly into the treatment plan to make manual edits.
5. Choose Messaging Options
At the bottom of the panel, choose how to send the plan:
Text Message
Email
Direct to the Patient
Family Member
Tablet in the Office
Note:
Patients will receive a secure link to view their treatment plan.
Email templates do not auto-populate details from Dentrix — they must be manually updated for each patient.
For efficiency, consider using the automated Unscheduled Treatment Campaign.
Method 2: Sending from the Patient’s Information Window
Search for the patient using the search bar in the top-right corner of the website.
Open the patient’s information window.
Click Treatment at the top of the page.
Send the Treatment Plan once the information has been verified.
