The New Patient Production KPIs are located on the Productivity Dashboard, making it easier to monitor and analyze revenue contributions from new patients. These KPIs provide insight into the financial impact of new patients and help practices assess their growth.

You can access the New Patient Production KPIs by navigating to:

PracticeIQ > Down Arrow on the Left Menu >Advanced > Productivity

Key Metrics Explained

  1. NP Prod/NPs (New Patient Production per New Patient): At $231, this metric calculates the average adjusted production for each new patient. It’s obtained by dividing the total adjusted production from new patients by the number of new patients seen, offering insights into the revenue generated by each new patient.

  2. NP Production % (New Patient Production %): This figure, shown as 4.2%, represents the portion of total adjusted production generated from new patients. For instance, with 4.2% of production coming from new patients, the remaining 95.8% originates from existing patients. This percentage helps evaluate the contribution of new patients to total production.

  3. Production/Comp Ex (Production per Comprehensive Exam): Displayed as $6,719, this metric shows the average production per comprehensive exam, which can be useful for understanding the productivity associated with comprehensive exams.

  4. Production from New Patients (adj): Total adjusted production generated from new patients within the selected timeframe. You can view this KPI by opening the details panel, as shown in the GIF below, where it is displayed as $1387.

Using the Dashboard for Strategic Insights

Practices can use these KPIs to assess both the quantity and quality of new patient contributions. For instance, tracking New Patient Production per New Patient helps identify if each new patient is adding significant revenue, while NP Production % indicates how heavily the practice relies on new patients for revenue.

Expanding on New Patient Metrics

Other KPIs that may be valuable for tracking new patient trends include:

  • New Patient Pre-Appointment: Monitoring the status of new patients before their initial appointment helps manage patient flow and prepares the team for incoming patient needs. This KPI can be found on the Patient Flow Dashboard.
