Frequently asked questions about insurance plans

How do you find the number of patients seen by a certain insurance plan?

To find the number of patients seen by an Insurance plan, go to Advanced - Patient Demographics page. On the page, you'll see a pie graph called Patients by Insurance. This pie graph can also be drilled down by Employer, Zip Code, and Age.

How do you find the number of uninsured patients?

To find uninsured patients, go to the Advanced - Patient Demographics page. On the page, you'll see a pie graph called Patients by Insurance. In there, click on the None box to deselect all insurances and then select Not Insured - the graph will then show the number of uninsured patients for the time period selected on top.

How do you find the number of new patients seen by a certain insurance plan?

To find the number of New patients by Insurance plan, go to the Advanced - Patient Demographics page. Change the time period to the Last 12 Months. On the page, you'll see a bar graph called - New Patients Seen by Age, which can be drilled down to - Insurance. As seen in the screenshots below, you can change the order of what the graph displays first to New Patients Seen by Insurance.

First, click on the downward arrow to open the menu of the Drill-down Order

Then, you would continually click on the up arrow ^ of Insurance until it is at the top.

Now, the bar graph will display the New Patients seen by Insurance plan. Highlighting the cursor over the month will show the breakdown by plan. Just like in other graphs, you can filter out the ones you don't want to see.

Q. How do you find $ amount produced or collected from a certain insurance plan?

Production by Insurance:

To find Production from each insurance plan, go to Practice IQ > Advanced > then click on the Financial tab, and then click on > Production Detail. Scroll down to see the Production by Insurance bar graph. Change the time period to the Last 12 months to see the data month by month. You can select and deselect the plans you want to look at. For example - to estimate Fee For Service (FFS) production - deselect all plans from the bar graph menu by clicking 'none' and then selecting Not Insured to get FFS production.

Collections by Insurance:

To find Collections from each insurance plan, go to Practice IQ > Advanced > then click on Financial tab and then click on > Collections Detail > scroll down to see Collections by Insurance bar graph. Change the time period to the Last 12 months to see the data monthly.

Adjustments by Insurance:

To find Adjustments from each insurance plan, go to Practice IQ > Advanced > click on Financial tab and then click on > Adjustments Detail > scroll down to see Adjustments by Insurance bar graph. Change the time period to the Last 12 months to see the data monthly.
