Eaglesoft handles adjustments differently from Open Dental and Dentrix, which affects how Practice IQ interprets the data. When entering insurance adjustments in Eaglesoft, you have the option to select what the adjustment "Impacts."

Key Steps to Prevent Negative Production:

1. Post Adjustments Correctly:

  • Ensure that insurance adjustments are set to impact "Adjustments" and not "Production."

  • If adjustments impact "Production," the provider assigned to the treatment will have a negative production item on the day the insurance payment is entered. This will not appear in detailed adjustment lists and reports, but it will show up in Practice IQ as negative production.

2. Common Issue:

  • Some Practice IQ subscribers notice daily reports where hygienists have negative production due to incorrect adjustment settings.

3. Proper Settings:

  • When adjustments impact "Adjustments," negative production will not be assigned to the provider. Instead, it will appear in the Credit Adjustments section, accurately reflecting the Adjusted Production KPI.

This approach ensures your Practice IQ reports accurately represent your production data without showing negative production for providers.
