We’ve refreshed the Patient Flow experience with a redesigned view and updated pop-ups for quick actions. While the functionality remains the same, the new layout makes it easier to use, more intuitive, and provides clearer visibility for staff.

Updated Layout

  • The design has been improved for a cleaner, more modern look.

  • The interface adapts seamlessly to your screen size or resolution.

  • You can still drag and drop patients into the correct chair.

Quick Action Buttons

The Quick Action Buttons remain available on each operatory tile, but the view and pop-up tooltips have been updated to make them clearer and easier to use. These allow you to:

  • Message the Operatory directly for quick communication.

  • Add Operatory Alerts for real-time communication.

  • Click the “No Assigned Provider” icon to summon the provider assigned to that appointment.

  • Summon Other Providers and Staff via a pop-up that allows you to select a different provider or staff member.

  • Show the Routing Slip to review patient details.

  • Move Patients to Check-out when ready.

This update ensures your team can take immediate actions with improved guidance and visibility.

Create Custom Locations

In Patient Flow Settings, you can:

  • Add new locations such as Bathroom Chair, Consult Room, or Lunch Room.

  • Use these as placeholders that aren’t necessarily clinical operatories.

  • Manage locations under Overall Settings > Locations by enabling, disabling, or editing as needed.

  • Show or hide the Ready to Seat column — this is optional and can be removed if not needed.

This feature helps your layout better reflect your actual practice flow.

Provider Colors on Appointments

  • Patient appointments now display Provider Colors, making it easy to see at a glance which provider is assigned. Dual colors indicate that two providers are assigned to the appointment.

Responsive Design

  • Patient Flow continues to adapt to different screen resolutions.

  • Whether on a large monitor or a smaller laptop, all operatories remain visible.

  • In the Condensed View, the Expected Today, Ready to Check-out, Late, and Completed Appointments columns are always present, but they are minimized by default and can be expanded as needed.

  • The check mark to view all scheduled appointments in the Expected Today column is not available in the condensed view.
