Sometimes, providers, staff, or consultants prefer seeing KPIs in a clean table format instead of graphs. With custom tables in Practice by Numbers, you can now view and organize key metrics by provider or office in an easy-to-read chart. These tables can be copied from existing dashboards or created from scratch and customized to show only the KPIs you care about most.

Step 1: Find a Table You Want to Use

Start by navigating to any dashboard with a table you’d like to work from. These tables exist across many pages, including your own custom dashboards or prebuilt ones in the Dashboard Lib section.

In this example, we’ll use the Doctor’s Numbers table on the CPR – Doc dashboard.

Step 2: Copy and Customize the Table

Once you’ve found a table you want to use:

  • Click the three-dot icon in the top right corner of the table panel.

  • Select Add to Home Page.

Instead of instantly adding it to your dashboard, a customization window will appear right away. This allows you to:

  • Choose the destination dashboard (such as your custom or enterprise-level dashboard),

  • Rename the panel,

  • Set the date range, provider filters, and

  • Customize which KPIs you want to include—before saving.

Table Setup Options (within the pop-up):

  • Dashboard: Pick the dashboard where the table should be saved.

  • Name: Give your panel a meaningful name.

  • Time Range: Use the date range from the page, or apply a fixed range like “Last 12 Months.”

  • Split by Provider: Check this to break results down by individual provider.

  • Provider Type: Choose which type of provider to filter by—Doctor, Hygienist, etc.

KPI Selection & Formatting:

  • Click Add KPI to search and select the performance indicators you want.

  • Use the ✏️ icon next to each KPI to rename it for clarity.

  • Rearrange the order of KPIs by dragging and dropping them.

  • Remove any you don’t want by clicking Remove.

Additional Custom Options:

  • Aggregate By: Select how data should be grouped—most commonly by Month.

  • Comparison Columns: Add columns for side-by-side comparisons (e.g., last year, last month).

  • Baseline Comparison: Optionally add a baseline to measure against.

Step 3: Save and View the Table

Once you're finished customizing:

  • Click Save

  • The table will now show up on your selected dashboard with the applied settings.

If you've chosen a wide date range like Year to Date or Previous 12 Months, your table may include multiple columns for each time period.

Step 4: Export or Print

You can export the table into a CSV spreadsheet or print it directly:

  • Click the three-dot icon again in the top right of the panel.

  • Select Export or Print as needed.

Important Notes

  • Tables will show totals at the bottom for each KPI column.

  • Averages may be inaccurate if a provider did not work during part of the date range—those days are still counted in the calculation.

  • These tables are perfect for practices wanting a no-fluff overview of performance trends across time or between team members.

You can use these tables as-is or customize them further—either way, they’re a powerful way to view and track the data that matters most to your practice.
