Resolving Missing Providers in Multi-Location Curve Dental Practices

Written by Alyssa Elso

If your practice uses Curve Dental across multiple locations, you may notice that certain providers are missing from Practice by Numbers (PbN) or that their production data is not displaying correctly.

This can happen when providers work at multiple locations, but their provider IDs or location assignments aren't configured correctly in Curve Dental.

Why Does This Happen?

When a provider works at multiple locations, Practice by Numbers relies on Curve Dental's returned information to identify the provider and retrieve their production data.

In some cases, Curve Dental may not correctly distinguish a provider's information between locations when the same provider ID is used.

As a result, you may experience the following:

  • Providers missing from the Employees page in Practice by Numbers.

  • Providers appearing in dashboards without production data.

  • Production information not displaying for all locations where a provider works.

How to Resolve Missing Providers

If your providers are missing or their production data is incomplete, review their configuration in Curve Dental.

Step 1: Review Provider Records in Curve Dental

  1. Log in to Curve Dental.

  2. Navigate to Administration > User Directory.

  3. Locate the provider who works at multiple locations.

  4. Review the provider's location assignments and associated provider IDs.

Step 2: Verify Employee Mapping in Practice by Numbers

Once the provider's configuration has been confirmed in Curve Dental:

  1. Log in to Practice by Numbers.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Employees.

  3. Locate the affected provider.

  4. Confirm that the provider is mapped to the correct Curve Dental provider ID.

  5. Save any necessary changes.

An incorrectly saved employee mapping can prevent a provider from appearing in certain dashboards, even when Curve Dental has the information.

Step 3: Confirm Provider Data Is Displaying

After reviewing the provider configuration and employee mapping, check the applicable dashboards in Practice by Numbers.

Verify that the provider appears in the provider dropdown and that their production data displays for the correct location.

What If the Issue Continues?

If the provider is still missing or their production data is not displaying after reviewing these settings, contact Practice by Numbers Support.

Our team can help verify the employee mapping and investigate whether Curve Dental is returning the necessary provider and location information.

You may also need to contact Curve Dental Support to review the provider's location configuration.

Summary

For multi-location Curve Dental practices, missing providers or production data may result from incomplete provider-location associations or incorrect employee mapping.

When Curve Dental returns a provider's location associations correctly, duplicate provider records aren't necessary. However, if Curve Dental cannot distinguish provider data across locations, you may need separate provider IDs.

Ensuring that provider records are correctly configured in Curve Dental and mapped in Practice by Numbers helps maintain accurate reporting across all practice locations.
