Practice by Numbers supports writing back Patient Notes and Task Notes to the patient's profile in Curve Dental. This ensures important communication and completed tasks are available directly within the patient's record without requiring duplicate documentation.
When a note is written back, it is created as an untagged note. Your office can then decide whether to categorize the note using one of Curve Dental's available note tags.
How Patient & Task Note Write Backs Work
When a Patient Note or Task Note is created in Practice by Numbers, it is automatically written back to the patient's Notes section within their Curve Dental Patient Profile.
The note will appear as an untagged note so your team can organize it according to your office's workflow.
Why Are Notes Untagged?
Curve Dental offers many note categories including:
Appointments
Billing
Clinical
Clinical History
Correspondence
Insurance
Marketing
Prescriptions
Treatment Planning
And many others
Because every practice uses these categories differently, Practice by Numbers does not automatically assign a tag.
Instead, the note is written back without a category so your team has complete control over how it should be organized.
Where to Find Written Back Notes
To locate notes that have been written back:
Open the patient in Curve Dental.
Navigate to Patient Profile.
Select Notes from the left navigation.
Review the patient's note history.
If desired, edit the note and assign a category.
Best Practice
We recommend allowing Practice by Numbers to create the note first and then tagging it only if your office has an established note categorization process. This provides the flexibility to maintain your existing workflows while ensuring all Patient and Task Notes are available within Curve Dental.
Note: Tagging a note after it has been written back does not affect the synchronization between Practice by Numbers and Curve Dental.
