Patient Overview is getting a refresh, and you'll notice new details the next time you open a patient's record.
These changes give you a clearer, more complete view of each patient without changing how you already work.
Your core workflow is not changing. Most of what's new is additional information now surfaced directly on the tabs you already use, plus a new tab built specifically for clinical notes.
What's Changing?
Here's a quick summary of what's new:
A new Notes tab for clinical notes and completed services
Clinical alerts and an insurance benefits snapshot, now shown right on Overview
Linked family members visible directly on Overview
Entry date, first visit, and referral information now shown on Account
A fuller insurance eligibility report you can view in multiple ways
Document sharing now built directly into Forms
Take a look at each tab below for the full picture.
The Header and Quick Actions
At the top of the window, you'll find the essentials: the patient's name, active status, demographics, and their current balance due, all visible without scrolling. If they're the responsible party for other family members on the account, that's flagged here too.

Quick Actions
Right below the patient's name, eight quick-action buttons put your most common tasks within a single click, so there's no more digging through menus:
SMS, Call, and Email: reach the patient directly
Forms: send forms
Treatment: send a treatment plan
Charge: charge a patient or send a payment request
Tasks: create or review tasks tied to this patient
Note: add a quick note without leaving the window

A Closer Look at Each Tab
Below the quick actions, seven tabs keep the rest of the patient's information organized so you always know where to look.
Overview
The Overview tab is your at-a-glance summary: last visit, recall status, upcoming visits, open tasks, and insurance status. Right below that, you'll find clinical alerts and an insurance benefits snapshot, followed by any linked family members, so you can see the whole household at once.
Overview tab: visit summary, clinical alerts, and an insurance snapshot.
Scroll a little further, and you'll find patient tags, all open tasks, contact information, and the patient's communication and appointment-reminder preferences, all on the same tab.
Overview tab: linked family members and patient tags.
Account
The Account tab shows the patient's billing picture: when they were entered and first seen, their aging balances (current, 30, 60, and 90 days), the cards on file, and their full service history and appointment list.
Account tab: entry info, balance aging, cards on file, and history.
Treatment
The Treatment tab lists the patient's treatment plan by phase, with the services, tooth or surface, and fee for each planned procedure.
Treatment tab: the patient's completed and scheduled treatment plan.
Activity
The Activity tab is the full contact log for the patient, covering every email, call, text, and task-related touchpoint, along with their patient notes and any active sequences.
Activity tab: the patient's full contact log.
Notes
Notes is a new tab that brings clinical notes and completed services together in one chronological history, so you can see what was done and when. It's separate from the quick Note button in the action row above: that one's for jotting a fast note without leaving the window, while this tab is where you go to review the full clinical record.
The new Notes tab: clinical notes and services history.
Insurance
The Insurance tab holds payer and plan details, verification status, and remaining benefits, with an eligibility report you can view in multiple ways: as a plain summary, raw JSON, an AI-generated summary, a Q&A, or structured data, whatever's easiest for the moment.
Insurance tab: payer details and the eligibility report.
Forms
The Forms tab is also where you share documents with the patient. Send a new package with Add New Package (anything shared here is automatically deleted after a year), and keep track of pending forms, completed forms, uploaded documents, and PMS document history, all in one place.
Forms tab: document sharing, pending and completed forms, and document history.
Why We Updated Patient Overview
See more without leaving the window. Overview now surfaces clinical alerts, insurance details, and family information right where you're already looking.
Keep a clearer clinical record. The new Notes tab keeps clinical notes and completed services together in one place, separate from quick day-to-day notes.
Get a fuller insurance picture. The eligibility report can now be viewed as a summary, raw data, an AI summary, a Q&A, or structured data, whichever is easiest for the moment.
Share documents without leaving Forms. Sending and tracking documents now lives right alongside the forms you're already managing.
