How to Add a New Tablet Connection for the Online Forms Kiosk in PbN
You can use almost any tablet as a kiosk for patient forms, as long as it has an internet connection, but an iPad is highly recommended. Amazon tablets are not recommended as functionality is not as stable.
*Please note, we do have a kiosk app available for iOS tablets.
Follow these steps to connect a new device:
1. Access the Forms Page:
Go to the PbN website.
Select the "Forms" page at the top of the website.
2. Add a New Tablet:
On the left side, select the "Tablets" option.
Click on "Add a new tablet."
3. Name the Device:
Enter a unique name for the device. The name must be unique across all accounts. A format like "{Practice Name} Tablet One" is recommended.
Note: This name will be visible to patients using the tablet.
4. Pair the Device:
After entering a valid name, a PIN number will be provided.
On the tablet, go to https://app.practicenumbers.com/forms and enter the PIN to pair the device.
Alternatively, you can add a device using the Kiosk app.
The Kiosk app is available only for iOS devices.
You can download the app directly by scanning the QR code.
5. Set Up the Kiosk:
Once paired, go to the same URL on the tablet or the Kiosk App to access the check-in menu for patients.
6. Manage Your Devices:
On the "Tablets" page in PbN, you can see all your connected devices.
From this page, you can view the connection status, edit the device name, get the 4-digit access pin by selecting the pencil icon, and remove an existing device.
