Important Update: Changes to Stripe External Payments Tracking and PMS Sync

Created by Alyssa Elso, Modified on Fri, 30 Aug at 2:26 PM by Alyssa Elso

We are committed to continuously improving the accuracy and efficiency of our platform. As part of this effort, we want to inform you about an important update regarding how we track payments and sync them with your Practice Management System (PMS).

Effective immediately (09/02/2024), PbN will no longer track or sync payments made outside of our platform, including those processed directly through Stripe. This also means that these external payments will not be synced back to your PMS, as we will no longer be tracking them.

Why This Change?

Previously, if practices used multiple systems to process payments, PbN could record these payments and sync them back to your PMS. However, this sometimes resulted in duplicate payment entries in your PMS—one from PbN and another from the integrated system—causing significant challenges in reconciling your accounts.

By restricting payment tracking and PMS syncing to only those transactions processed directly through the PbN platform, we aim to eliminate these issues and maintain the accuracy and integrity of your financial records.

What Does This Mean for You?

  • Payments made directly through external systems like Stripe will no longer be tracked or synced with your PMS via PbN.
  • Reconciliation and reporting within PbN and your PMS will be more accurate, reducing the risk of errors in your payment records.

We believe this update will simplify your financial management and help ensure the accuracy of your payment data.
