The Provider ID and Patient ID are unique 14-digit identifiers used by Practice by Numbers (PBN) for features such as patient search, provider mapping, and Online Scheduling configuration. Knowing where to locate these IDs in Ascend can help streamline setup and troubleshooting.
Finding a Provider ID
The Provider ID is required when configuring provider mapping and certain Online Scheduling settings.
How to Find a Provider ID
In Ascend, navigate to Settings > User Accounts.
Open the provider whose ID you need.
Select the Provider Information tab.
Once the provider profile is open, look at the URL in your browser's address bar.
The 14-digit number in the URL is the Provider ID.

Note: The Chart Number (PT####) displayed on the patient profile does not sync to Practice by Numbers and cannot be used to search for a patient in PBN. Always use the 14-digit Patient ID from the browser URL when searching in PBN.
